The Psychology of Exploration: Why Novel Experiences Reshape Identity and Memory

6 Experiences You Need Before You Die

The world is full of natural wonders; there are so many that it’s hard to just exactly what to see. That’s why we think it’s more important to identify what experiences you want to have before you leave this world. There is more than one way to skin a cat (we’re guessing there is at least four) and there is more than one way to get these experiences.

So check out the 6 experiences you need to have before you die, write them down and get going

  1. See an alien world you didn’t know existed. This is the Cave of the Crystals in Naica, Mexico, where the crystals dwarf the human explorers.

  1. Walkthrough breathtaking beauty. These are the Ramona Falls is a cascading waterfall located in Mount Hood, Oregon.

  1. Find heaven on earth. There are places of beauty like the Keyhole arch at Pfeiffer Beach in California where it seems heaven is on earth.

  1. Don’t know whether this world is up or down. The Salar du Ayuni in Bolivia is the world’s largest salt flat, completely reflective and mesmerizing.

  1. Finally, find peace in this world. The agano Bamboo Forest found in Arashiyama, Japan is the perfect place to do just that.

This Little Known Place Way Up North Is Perfection. And I Had No Idea It Even Existed Til Now.

Lapland, Finland, has got to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Plus, if Santa is real, then he definitely lives in this magical place. Even if you hate wintry wonderlands (and who does, really?) you still might want to put visiting there on your bucket list. Lapland is the largest and northernmost region of Finland. It’s so large, it’s the least densely populated area of the country. There would be nothing but you, the wilderness and maybe some friendly reindeer (which sounds great, don’t lie). Lapland is so far north that it’s like a winter wonderland 6 months out of the year.

Riisitunturi National Park in southern Lapland is renowned for its crown snow trees.

And we’re not entirely convinced that Santa Claus doesn’t live here.

Because of its geographic location, it’s also possible to see the Northern Lights from Lapland.

Visiting Lapland may require you to do some cross country skiing…

Or even sleep in an “igloo.”

(Which looks awesome, by the way.)

Lapland is the kind of place where you could really be at one with nature (as long as you packed enough warm clothes).

Lapland would be great to visit, but living in that kind of weather year-round (especially when Finland gets less sunlight than we’re used to in the United States) would be rough. Unless you found Santa’s workshop, then it’d just be gravy.
